As an essay editor at Interface Education and College Transitions, I have worked with students across the globe, in both high school and college, to help them develop personal and authentic application essays that have garnered acceptances from UCs to Ivy Leagues. As a marketing assistant and MCAT CARS instructor for The Princeton Review, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the college admissions process, including testing techniques and timelines.
I love working with students on their college application essays because it combines my love of the written word with my belief that everyone deserves to follow his/her dreams. Self-promotion can be tough, and admissions gatekeepers want to hear about what makes you special—and yet you can’t sound like you’re bragging. I work with students to help them write essays that highlight their best qualities in the right way, so your prospective colleges will know why they should want you.
I have been teaching, tutoring, and professionally writing and editing for 10+ years, from my time as a UCLA English major to writer and editor at publications like Santa Barbara Magazine. Words are my passion—my fiction has appeared in literary journals including Westwind, Glass Mountain, and (parenthetical), and my current work in progress is a young adult science fiction novel. My experience as an author makes me a knowledgeable grammarian in addition to my default mode as a word nerd, and in leading critiques, I create a nurturing environment and give feedback in a gentle, constructive manner. I love igniting my students’ passion for reading and writing in a way that makes them feel safe.
If you’re stumped about how to approach an assignment or the best topic for your personal statement, I will teach you how best to tackle those tasks and move toward your dreams—whether it’s an A on a test or your top university.

I graduated university cum laude, and was a member of my college's English Honors Society. I haven't tutored professionally before, but I was a proofreader on the university literary magazine and have often helped friends with writing projects.
I recently went 'back to school', and obtained a 100-hour ESL teaching certification from Oxford Seminars. Afterward, I decided I'd rather teach English in a one-to-one situation because those will allow me to better help you as a student, whatever stage in learning English that you might be at. I can do so in your own time, as well.
I am new to WyzAnt. So I do not have any prior, relevant tutoring experience. I am not new to speaking, reading and writing English, though. And being a native speaker, I'm familiar with the nuances involved in communicating using English.
If it's any aspect of the language you need help with, I can provide it. I specialize in spelling, reading and writing English. However, speaking and listening are equally important to learning the language, and I know how important grammar is to that end, also. I'm most interested in helping you at your own pace, and according to your own, individual learning abilities. Your personal interests are also very important to me, because we can use those to create lesson content you will be enthusiastic about undertaking and completing.
I have always been a careful user of the words in my native English language. And having been an English major and writer in school, and a writer in my free time now, I will not consider my teaching tasks complete until you can speak, write and comprehend English intelligently, no matter the areas of life in which you might choose to use it.
I do have a two-hour cancellation policy. Locations for tutoring sessions can be sorted out based on mutual convenience. I can help you whether you are an absolute beginner in English, or whether you are an advanced student - and anything in between. And, I look forward to hearing from you if you are interested in learning and/or progr

Hello, My name is Tim and I have worked with young people for over 25 years. I have employed them in small businesses I have owned, I have taught them in primary and secondary school, and I presently supervise and mentor them as a Personal Manager at UCSB. I have also been a Teachers Assistant in a Freshman Orientation class at UCSB for several years. I enjoy working with young people and helping them navigate their way through their early academic years. In all my time working with young people I have found that they constantly have questions and it is our responsibility as adults to help them find the answers, or a least work with them to find some solutions. This applies to academics and and life in general.
After working with our youth I have a good understanding of what your fears, anxieties and questions are. I have an easygoing personality that works well with young people and honestly I just have the ability to relate to you. I have a strong background in writing and have graded university level midterm and final papers for the UC writing requirements. Working with young people, I am able to understand the challenges they are experiencing academically and can help them make the adjustments they require to succeed. I hope to meet some of you soon and address some of your challenges head on.

Hello! I'm Azzedin, or Azi for short. I am a published scientist and researcher who can help demystify math, physics, and programming. I am also available to help with test prep.
I began tutoring in an official capacity during my time at Purdue University, where I earned my BS in Materials Science and Engineering. There, I was one of the most sought after official tutors in the Minority Engineering Program, where I helped fellow undergraduates with Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, basic Materials Science, Physics, and MATLAB/Python. Most of my tutoring sessions were 1 on 1, but I also had review sessions before exams with groups 5-8 students. The students I worked with 1 on 1 consistently were able to get a grade of a B or higher in the course I was helping them in! I am very proud of that fact.
After getting my BS at Purdue, I moved over to the University of California, Santa Barbara to work on my doctorate in Materials Science. My research work sharpened my skills in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Python. I graduated in December and now I am available to provide help to whoever needs it!
If you would like my help, please send me a message! I will respond as soon as possible.

I'm Estefany. I graduated from Antioch University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. All through my education, I figured out that my strengths were in language skills, English and writing. I have a deep passion for self expression through writing and language. I speak three languages fluently and I also like to write in my free time. I am also majorly passionate about helping others. While doing my higher education, I worked as an ESL / English tutor, I find that I am my best self when doing this as it brings everything I love together. I think there is so much satisfaction in seeing my students succeed and leave tutoring sessions more confident. They learn from me and I learn from them. I have worked with a very diverse group of students which is why I am very conscious of their learning styles and what works best for each student. I like to accommodate them as much as possible so they get the best out of our sessions.
I have been tutoring at a local community college for 6 years now. I have been tutoring for ESL all 6 six years and for the English department for 3 years. I work with adults from various backgrounds. I have tutored in classrooms of different levels of ESL in subjects such as Grammar, Reading and Writing. I also have been tutoring for a college level English class where I work in individual sessions via zoom. I even work weekends and make my schedule as flexible as possible as I know many students also have other responsibilities besides school. Prior to the pandemic, I worked in person in a tutoring center however, when the pandemic began. All my sessions transitioned to virtual and found them to be more effective as I can offer a more diverse schedule for my students and its more accessible since getting to a certain location is not always possible.
I always want to assure students get the most benefit from tutoring sessions. I like to hear their feedback and if they feel that my tutoring style or activities are effective.

I've always loved science and I'm genuinely excited when anyone asks questions that I can answer to help them understand, oftentimes difficult, subject material. I have a bachelor's degree in Geophysics and I currently work as a researcher analysing rocks for trace element composition, both of which have provided platforms to relate abstract concepts in science and math to physical processes.
It's my belief that the real factors for success are time and effort, everyone has the ability to be an expert with practice and the true challenge is learning to focus on the skills someone wants to improve.
I'm a huge fan of live music, hiking, swimming, running, movies and tea or ideally any combination. I enjoy anything that can represent scientific concepts, which is pretty much everything, and my goal is to help others see these concepts in their everyday life.

I'm Eric, and I've been teaching and tutoring chemistry since 2005. I work at a top-rated university where I get to help students master their general and organic chemistry courses, as well as strengthen their study skills and work to achieve academic success. I have a Master's degree in chemistry and have been in love with the subject since taking it in high school--inspired by a wonderful teacher. This inspiration in turn led me to pursue my career in education.
I have many years of experience teaching in group and individual settings, both in-person and online. My expertise includes tutoring general and organic chemistry at the college level, as well as high school and AP chemistry. I also taught test-prep in MCAT chemistry for The Princeton Review for many years. I have worked with students of all abilities and backgrounds, and I believe anyone can learn and succeed in chemistry!
My familiarity with different learning styles allows me to find what works best for each student to learn effectively and efficiently. I have a knack for breaking down complex topics into manageable and easier-to-digest concepts, helping students to understand the material better and faster. I often find that students who are struggling have issues with their problem-solving strategy. They may read the question and not know how to start solving it or have trouble synthesizing the given information into a coherent solution. I enjoy working with students to develop these important skills that can translate to classes beyond chemistry.
I look forward to working with you (or your child) and helping them to master this great subject!
